“YOU HAVE WON 1.5 MILLION DOLLARS” Scam
February 7th, 2013 by SubmittedThe Drew County Sheriff’s Office was recentlycontacted by a Drew County resident stating that she had been contacted by telephone by a man named Michael Anderson stating that she had won a extremely large amount of money.
She stated Anderson told her that she needed to send $750.00 to cover insurance and taxes. The woman then sent money to an address in Palestine, TX. The victim then stated that she was contacted by her bank saying that she had insufficient funds and that someone had tried to get $6,451.53 out of her account. Investigators have tried to make contact with the other party that are running the scam and is currently seeking further information.

THE SAME THING HERE I RECIEVED A CALL AROUND 8 AM THAT I HAD WOM1MILLION DOLLARS AND A MERCEDES FROM PUB CLEARING HOUSEB AND HE NEEDED 750.00FOR TAXES ON CAR TO GO TOO WAL MART AND PUR A MONEY CARD AND A COURRIER WOULD PICK IT UP AT MY HOME AND I WOULD SEE A PVH VAN ON WAY THERE AND NOT TELL ANYONE I REPORTED IT TO POLICE AT WALMART THE CALLER WAS FURIOUS WHEN I TOLD HIM IT WAS A SCAM
