Woman Cited to Stealing Yard Decorations
April 28th, 2012 by Joe BurgessAccording to Drew County Sheriff Mark Gober, a deputy responded to a theft call at a residence located on Highway 425 North, Thursday. The owner of the residence reported that several yard ornaments and decorations were missing.
Later that day Monticello Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. While performing the traffic stop, officers noticed several yard decoration items located throughout the vehicle which happened to match the descriptions of the items that were also recently reported stolen from the city of Monticello.
Monticello Police Department authorities contacted the Sheriff’s Department about the items they found. The driver of the vehicle, Amanda Robinson, 29 of Monticello, reportedly admitted to investigators that she did steal the property. Robinson was issued a citation for criminal trespassing and theft of property for items under $500.
All found items were returned, or are waiting to be returned to their owners.
