Last week, the Winchester City Council held their regular monthly meeting, which was expected to focus on the proposed contract/agreement to provide safe sewer service to the area.

Emotions ran high throughout the short meeting, which was ended, before any official business took place, as Drew County Sheriff Deputies were seemingly called in to keep the peace.

Mayor Demetrius Trotter told MonticelloLive.com that negotiations were still taking place, and that the final date for an agreement was September 18.
