yes. they are comfortable. lol. my husband makes our living in the cattle business. these calves were orphens that were left to die. my husband brought them home and i am bottle feeding until they can be weaned. they will be leaving for their new homes soon.. thank you to all my neighbors for being so nice and understanding. i have really gotten attached to them. their names are Fred, and Annabelle.
I live in the neighborhood and I have driven my daughter by many times. She loves to look at them and wishes she could play with them. It is definitely something new to see out here in the backyard.
I am glad that no one is complaining about them. Quite a few years ago I had a pet pig,a 500 lb pet pig, in my backyard. While most of my neighbors adored the pig,fed it corncobs and such in fact, in the end I had to find her a new home because one of my neighbors…
I am a neighbor to the “yard calves.” I was sitting, drinking my coffee and looking out my back yard. I started trying to figure out what kind of new dog my neighbors had…a big dog…what kind of dog flicks its tail like that? It turned and I realized it was no dog…a little later there was a bigger one ambling around. I have had a good laugh at myself trying to figure out what kind of “dog” that could be. Now I know “the rest of the story” as to why we had calves in the neighborhood. Glad also to know my neighbors aren’t raising beef to fill their freezer!
any time you would like to stop and see/pet my babies, please let me know. annabelle is shy, but fred loves attention. and thanks again for being so understanding. although fred is a bull calf, he will never end up in a freezer. they both will go to homes as pets only. dont get me wrong, i love hamburgers, but not fred burgers. lol
ps, sorry you had to find your pig a new home. thats sad. i adore animals of all kinds. my husband and i are constantly saving some sort of critters. Remember, eat more chcken.. dont tell my husband i sad that. lol
