Feds Considering Using Desha County Site To House Children. Separated from their Parents at the Border

Thursday, officials from the U.S. department of health and human services visited 2 government-owned facilities in Arkansas as possible detention sites for migrant children, that have been the focus of many national news reports.
One facility, a former USDA facility near Kelso (in Desha County) sits less than two miles north of the former Japanese-American internment camp in Rohwer.
The Rohwer Relocation Center was one of two internment camps in Arkansas used to house Japanese-American citizens during World War II.
