Vehicle Shot on HWY 278: $50,000 Bond
July 20th, 2022 by Joe BurgessOn June 14, an individual reported to the Drew County Sheriff’s Office that his vehicle was shot at as he was driving on Hwy 278 near Wilmar.
The vehicle was struck several times, including the passenger side front tire.
During the course of the investigation Zy’Tavious Chavis, age 20 of Wilmar, was identified as a suspect in the case.
Judge Bruce Anderson signed an arrest warrant for Chavis.
Based on a tip called in to the Drew County Sheriff’s Office Chavis was arrested at a Little Rock residence by the Little Rock Police Department.
On July 7, 2022 Chavis appeared before Judge Crews Puryear for a first appearance. Chavis’ bond was set at $50,000 commercial. Chavis has bonded out of jail. The investigation is ongoing and other arrested are expected in the case.
