Update on UAM Student Success Center (& Chick-fil-A)
March 30th, 2017 by iPhoneUAM Chancellor Dr. Karla Hughes and Vice Chancellor for University Operations and Student Affairs Jay Hughes took part in presentations to the University of Arkansas board of trustees, Wednesday afternoon in Pine Bluff.
First, Chancellor Hughes received the board’s approval to modify the student meal plans, and begin a new “commuter meal plan,” as UAM “makes progress to a establish a commercial food service entity in the Student Success Center,” which was approved at the last UA board meeting.
During the next session, the board approved SCM Architects as the on-call firm for the campus (out of the 8 firms expressed interest). SCM is also the architect for the Student Success Center.
Although no one with UA or UAM has contracted in any way with any franchise to provide commercial food service, strong rumors indicate that Chick-fil-A will be announced as the new on-campus food entity.
Chick-fil-A implied this was likely, when they posted a “coming soon” message on their app, last July.
