Unused City Street to be Closed – Made Private Drive

T‘he City Council officially voted to close a portion of West Pauline Street, at their meeting.
At the July 25 meeting, Kay Carpenter and Ted White addressed the Council with regard to a small section of West Pauline Street that runs adjacent to the north side of the Charles Jackson house at 344 South Main Street for approximately one block.
This section of W. Pauline has not been maintained by the City for a number of years. Ms. Carpenter recently purchased the Jackson house and intends to use the property as a business location. Mr. White currently operates a business at the end of this section of Pauline Street. It was important to them that this street be maintained by the City, or abandoned so that they may maintain it.
