UNITED WAY ANNOUNCES 2016-17 COMMUNITY INVESTMENTS
July 9th, 2016 by iPhoneUnited Way in Drew County has named the community programs that will receive grant dollars in the 2016-17 funding cycle. United Way will award a total of $12,000.00 to help support programs and projects of local nonprofit organizations specific to Drew County.
Addressing the most pressing community needs through grant funding is a key element of United Way’s work. Drew County United Way Board members reviewed applications from agencies throughout the area and conducted interviews and site visits before making funding decisions. Nonprofits benefitting from the grant process include the following:

Boy Scouts, DeSoto Chapter
C.A.S.A. 10th Judicial District
Drew County 4H
Drew County Single Parent Scholarship
Holmes Tutorial & Literacy
Miracle League of SE AR, Inc.
Special Olympics
Vera Lloyd Presbyterian Family Services
All money raised in Drew County stays in the community. Through the support of the local community, United Way provides support to organizations that specialize in the specific needs of their community. Our approach brings together volunteers, citizens, local businesses and service providers that positively affect the community’s quality of life.
