Union Bank & Trust Co. Gifts $75,000 to UAM Athletics Legacy Campaign
April 8th, 2024 by UAM NewsOn April 1, Union Bank & Trust Co. gifted $75,000 to the UAM Athletics Legacy Campaign at the University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM).
The funds will support adding LED lights to UAM Baseball’s Weevils Field and UAM Softball’s Alvy Early Softball Field. This will mark the first time the fields have had lights, allowing the baseball and softball teams to host night games.
Hud Jackson, director of Athletics and head football coach at UAM, stated, “We are so grateful for Union Bank’s generosity. They have been a great partner to our athletics department and our university for a long time. We understand how important our relationship is with them. We are so excited they are part of our Legacy Campaign.”
“We are incredibly grateful to Union Bank for their generous donation to support the UAM Athletics Legacy Campaign,” stated Dr. Peggy Doss, chancellor of UAM. “This gift will contribute to the installation of lights on our softball and baseball fields, allowing for night games that will improve the experience for both the student-athletes and spectators. These kinds of enhancements to our facilities are essential to support our student-athletes and play an important role in our recruitment initiatives. I want to express my sincere appreciation for Union Bank’s long history of support for UAM. Our ongoing partnership is invaluable and plays an integral part in UAM’s pursuit of progress.”
The UAM Athletics Legacy Campaign focuses on enhancing the support of student-athletes through major facility improvements. The campaign aims to have 250 donors join each year, generating a yearly revenue of $250,000 toward improving various facilities.
