UAM’s Destiny Allison Selected as Top 40 Nursing Leader in Arkansas

Destiny Allison UAMDestiny Allison, simulation coordinator for the School of Nursing at the University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM), was selected as an Arkansas Center for Nursing’s (ACN) 40 Nurse Leaders Under 40 for 2024.

According to ACN, Allison was chosen “through a highly competitive nomination process that focused on commitment to excellence, service, outreach within the community, leadership qualities and contributions to advancing the nursing profession. This recognition is intended to identify, celebrate and encourage exemplary dedication and leadership in the nursing profession.”

“I am very honored to have been nominated and selected for this prestigious award. Receiving this award is a reminder to always empower others, drive innovation and advocate for excellence in health care,” Allison said.

Dr. Brandy Haley, dean of the School of Nursing at UAM, congratulated Allison, stating, “I am not surprised that Destiny was selected for this award. She is among the hardest-working faculty in the UAM School of Nursing. Receiving this award is a testament to her work ethic, leadership, exceptional achievements and dedication to the nursing profession. Destiny has an unwavering determination toward success, which is the foundation of her integrity. I am honored to know and employ her.”

Allison will be recognized at the 2024 recognition ceremony on Monday, October 14, at the Benton Event Center in Benton, AR.

According to its website, ACN’s mission is “to promote a culture of health for the citizens of Arkansas by advancing nursing education, practice, leadership and workforce development.”
