Tucker Wins Mayor’s Race, Avoids Run-off By 1/2 %
November 6th, 2014 by iPhoneZack Tucker, former assistant to Mayor Allen Maxwell, won Tuesday’s mayor election over current mayor Joe Rogers and former city council member Thomas “Sonny” Thornhill.
Tucker 1223 50.56%
Rogers. 1075 44.44%
Thornhill 141 5.0%
Tucker’s 50.56% was enough to avoid a potential 2nd run-off election against Rogers, this year, as was the case in the special election following the death of Mayor Allen Maxwell, earlier this year.
Tucker’s term in office will begin in January.
