Truck Owner Testifies – 1:15 Update

The truck was a 1987 Peterbilt.
Moore told the jury that Childs only reported small issues, like pulling power. He added brakes and tires were never mentioned by Childs.
Moore answered another question by saying that he wasn’t aware of any regulations limiting loads to maximum weights under the usual 80,000#.
When asked about maintenance records, Moore told that he’d had safety inspections on all of his trucks, except this one, since he’d just bought that truck.
Moore admitted that he’d never collected daily inspection sheets from Childs.
He was show photos of two tires that were on the truck during the wreck, commenting that they were badly worn.
Moore told the jury that he’d see one of those worn tires on Saturday, and told Childs to get that tire replaced Monday, the next work day.
That tire was still on the trailer at the time if the crash.
