Trotter Withdraws from Mayor’s Race – Endorses Rogers
August 14th, 2014 by iPhoneBelow is the letter from mayoral candidate JoAnn Trotter .
Dear Friends:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for believing in me, supporting me with your donations, prayers and overall encouragement during the Mayor’s Special Election on June 24, 2014. When I entered the race it was because I cared about the people and the overall economic development of the City of
Monticello. Over 90% of businesses ran in the United States are small mom and pop shops. And in Monticello we have small businesses that keeps our town
going and hopefully MEDC can help them market and increase their businesses, so that people can acquire jobs.
Although I did not win the race, I still feel victorious and I left a mark by receiving the third most votes out of 5 candidates. Monticello has truly come a long way, but there is still a lot of work to be done, and I will continue to be visible in the community and use my voice to make a difference for everyone.
At this point, I have made the decision to withdraw from the Mayoral race in November, and I will stand behind and support Mayor Joe Rogers,
Please give Mayor Rogers the opportunity to seri/e you again, in a much bigger and better capacity.

JoAnn, congratulations on being a good candidate for running for Mayor. I feel you are very sincere about caring for Monticello. I would like to encourage you to run for City Council. Monticello still needs good people at every level to bring our City forward. Proud of you.
Very classy. We could use more of that these days.
