Traffic Fatality, Tuesday Night

On March 21, 2023 at approximately 4:18pm members of the Drew County Sheriff’s Office, SEEMS Ambulance Service and a member of the Monticello Fire Department responded to a single vehicle fatality accident at the intersection of Hwy 138 and Grizzell Lane.
Upon their arrival an investigation was conducted of the accident and determined that Mr. Othello King (76) of Monticello was traveling westbound on Hwy 138, when he veered off of the roadway entering the north side ditch and striking a culvert at the intersection of Grizzell Lane.
Mr. King was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident by the Drew County Coroner’s Office.
The Drew County Sheriff’s Office sends their condolences to the family and friends of Mr. King.
