Traffic Fatality Caused by Water In HWY- Deceased Identified

Minutes before 2 PM, Friday afternoon, a southbound vehicle lost control on Highway 65, near Tillar, after hydroplaning In standing water on the roadway.
After crossing the centerline, the vehicle collided with the front of the eight northbound box truck, causing the death of the driver of the car.
Driver of the truck was transported by ambulance to Dumas. A passenger in the Lincoln was transported to JRMC, in Pine Bluff.
The deceased was identified as Donald Douglas Mandy, age 55 of Wilmot.
Arkansas State Troopers, Arkansas Highway Police, and Desha County Sheriff Deputies responded.
Fire and rescue department that responded be included Tillar, McGehee, Dermott and Dumas.
As heavy rains continue to fall across Southeast Arkansas, please use extreme caution when traveling.
