Tommy Newman is a Monticello High School graduate with a B.S.E. degree at University of Arkansas at Monticello.
He has served as Vice-President on the Chamber of Commerce, coached Pee-Wee football and Little League baseball in past years, and teaches Sunday School at First Baptist Church of Monticello.
He has been married to his wife, Phyllis Newman, for 46 years and they have one son. Phyllis Newman has taught in the Monticello School District for 40 years, is currently retired.
He currently owns and operates Newman Fixture Sales & Service and is co-owner of Mid-Town Enterprises since 1973.
“I want to re-establish the communication between the City Council and the wishes of the people of Monticello. ”
“If elected, I plan to work diligently to serve the people of my ward and all of Monticello the best I can. I would like to see our community improved. Our water and sewer infrastructure needs upgrading and needs to be at the top of our list.”
