This Time, Your Vote Really Doesn’t Count, But PLEASE Vote in Nov.
September 19th, 2016 by Joe Burgess
Everyone has heard, “my vote really doesn’t count.”
In the current school board election, where early voting is being held until 4:30, your vote really doesn’t count. Early voting began, Tuesday, with 29 votes cast, as of noon, today.
Dr. Mike Fakouri is running unopposed for the Monticello school board. Mike Pennington is running unopposed for the Drew Central school board. It is illegal for millage to be denied, even if it is passed by the voters.
Honestly your vote will make no difference; this time.
But remember, in May we had a City Council seat change hands, because of one vote.
I’m not trying to direct you which way to vote in any election, in November, but simply reminding you that “one vote can make a difference” (except in an unopposed the school board election.)
