“There’s a Bomb in my Truck” 911 Call, 1:30 am, Wednesday
May 20th, 2022 by Joe BurgessAt 1:35, Wednesday morning, Monticello 911 received a call from a Crossett man, reporting that he had just entered Monticello and that there was a bomb rigged to his vehicle. If the vehicle stopped, the bomb would detonate.
MPD dispatch and responding Monticello Police officers quickly researched as much information as possible on the situation, before performing a traffic stop, in a non-populated section of Highway 425 S.
After the traffic stop officers, along with DCSO deputies, began trying to unravel the truth behind the events that were taking place.
After a thorough search of the vehicle, the man was taken into custody, and the vehicle towed. No explosive devices were found.
The investigation is still ongoing.
