“The River” Liquor License Suspended, Reportedly Closed
March 24th, 2017 by iPhone
According to sources, a local restaurant/bar has had its liquor license suspended by Arkansas DF&A.
The River restaurant & bar had their liquor license pulled by the state Alcohol Beverage Control Division, on behalf of the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, last Friday.
MLive has confirmed that the establishment has not been open since then.
Although specific details of the suspension are vague, DF&A (generally) would only suspend an alcohol serving license for tax reasons, and not for age violations, similar to the August 2015 and September 2016 violations that the River had been sanctioned for in the past.
As of this (Friday) afternoon, it appears there has been no change in the ongoing suspension of the local business.
Phone calls to The River haven’t been returned, and the outgoing voicemail has been deleted.
UPDATE: Late Friday afternoon, we found that the business’ Facebook page stated that the business would be sold, and the owner is moving out of town, due to family reasons.
