“The Monticello Flag”
July 4th, 2013 by Joe BurgessFor as long as most folks remember, the intersection of HWY 425 and 278 has always been home to the “Monticello Flag.”
Many are used to seeing it, but don’t realize how often the flags must be repaired and replaced.
The flags, usually 4 at a time, are purchased with donations made by Commercial Bank, Union Bank, Simmons Bank, Parkway Bank, and Maxwell Hardwood Flooring.
Thanks to those donations, “the Flag” still flies above Monticello for all travelers to see.

Thanks to the supporters!
I remember when it was put up to welcome home our National Guards men from Desert Storm. It still brings a tear toy eye when I see it.

My grandaddy started that Henry Lee Ross!
I always love to see it waving. My teenage son has even remarked how he enjoy’s seeing the flag in it’s regular place. A special thanks to all who contribute to keep our nation’s lovely flag flying high.
