The Family that’s Arrested Together…..
February 7th, 2013 by Joe BurgessLast October, at 2:15, on an early Saturday morning, a local man, his girlfriend, and her daughter were arrested, following a traffic stop for no license plate by Monticello Police, near HWY 425 & Barkada Road. All three occupants were charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
The man and woman plead guilty to their Possession of a Controlled Substance and Drug paraphernalia charges Thursday morning in Drew County Circuit Court. Both were wanted by authorities on warrants at the time of their arrest.
John Mann, age 47, was sentenced to 120 days in the county jail, followed by 3 years, suspended imposition of sentence, (which will be served simultaneously with his ongoing parole, from before this latest conviction).
Tamara DeFir, age 40, was sentenced to 5 years of supervised probation.
The case against her 18 year old daughter was nolle prossed.
