Suspect Crashes “Borrowed” 4-Wheeler – Sent to DMH
August 15th, 2014 by Joe BurgessAt 2 am, , on a recent Saturday morning, the Drew County Sheriff’s Office, Monticello Police Department and SEEMS were dispatched to Barkada Rd. in reference to an ATV accident.
Freddie Campbell Jr. was identified as the driver of the ATV. It was determined that Campbell had taken the ATV without permission of the owner (after he had been drinking). Campbell stuck several mailboxes in the area and an AT&T box.
Campbell was transported to the Drew Memorial Hospital and written several citations. They included DWI, Failure to Maintain Control, Careless Driving, Driving an ATV on the Roadway and Criminal Mischief. Campbell was not charged with taking the ATV due to the owners request but they did state that if he did not pay for the damages to the ATV, they would pursue civil charges against him.
Rod’s Wrecker towed the ATV.
