I think Second Chance For Dogs is a good organization, but limited in its ability to help. I say this because I took a puppy (a few hours old) that was going to be euthanized. 2nd Chance told us they all had jobs & could not care for this puppy. We cared for the puppy until we found a wonderful compassionate lady on FB to adopt it.
I am in favor of the VOLUNTARY donation to care for dogs; but I am a cat person, & there is no city facility to care for cats. I cannot even remember how many kittens my daughter & I have rescued from around town & Walmart parking lot over the years. These were all successfully re-homed except 2; which are MINE. I have other rescues too. I would like to thank 4-West Vet Clinic for the spay/neuter program they have once a month that allowed me to have my cats sterilized for about $35 each, including a rabies shot. Dr. Mullens does a great job, & this is a great community service.
