Storm Warning Testing Continues, Today – Interview with Director
June 24th, 2015 by iPhoneDrew County OEM and American Signal will be conducting Storm Warning Siren testing, again, today.
After several comments from the public, OEM direct Michael Frisby was interviewed by MLive, “Tornado sirens are an outside wanting system. Unless you are close to a siren, you aren’t going to here, it if you are inside a building.. That is the reason why the city and county also use the Code Red warning system, which will call your phone & give severe weather information.”
Below is a link to sign up for Code Red.

It is suggested you register for the “phone notification,” since they are received faster than text messages.

never heard it!!
I’m 58 years old and this is the first time I have heard the storm warning thing.
I am signed up and have gotten Code Red warnings. However, the warning always came after the storm had passed. I have heard several others say the same thing. Will this problem be fixed?
Live on Barkada Rd and was listening for the test and never heard anything, is there a tower in this area and would like to know where are these towers located
it was heard loud and clear on E. Pope St yesterday, however, on 278/Larkin, while in the building, it was not as warning but since I knew what it was, I could slightly hear it….Thanks for the link so I will go on and sign us up and my parents who lives a couple miles out of city limits..Great Job Monticello….
WE LIVE ON SOUTH SPEER STREET AND BY GOSH.. WE HEARD IT!! THAT THING IS LOUD..IF YOU DIDN’T HEAR IT.. SOMETHING’S WRONG!
The siren located in Coleman can barely be heard when it goes off. I heard it yesterday when I was outside, but had it been rainy or windy, I wouldn’t have been able to hear it.
It’s got to be louder in Selma can’t hear it in the house
Again yesterday I paid close attention to hear sirens , did not hear them. I have asked a quorum cort member to have the sites identified , no results. I asked the county judges office the same. Still no help. what is so secretive to ask where the towers are located
