Stolen Truck Recovered (with Suspects) Friday Night, 30 Minutes after Theft
July 26th, 2012 by Joe BurgessAround 11:45, Friday night, a local man was visiting friends on E. Shelton St., when he heard his Chevy truck crank up. He went outside, and saw his vehicle backing out of the driveway, and called MPD Dispatch.
Police took the vehicle description and theft report. 30 minutes later, at 12:15, a MPD patrolman recognized the stolen pick-up truck parked behind the old Social Club building, with two suspects inside.
He confronted and arrested both suspects, with the assistance of other MPD and DCSO officers that arrived.
Thomas Ridgell, age 40 of Monticello, received a $5,000 bond for Theft of Property over $500 and Driving on Suspended License.
The second suspect was later releaed.
