Stolen Side-by-Side Recovered, Arrest Made

On 8/31/2018, the Drew County Sheriff’s Department took a theft report from Scenic Drive, off US Hwy 425 south.
The suspect opened the back door of a garage and took a 2018 Honda pioneer side-by-side.
On 9/01/2018 DCSO received a call from the owner of the side-by-side, stating he had offered a reward for the return of his property. Acting off a tip from the reward offer Deputies went to an address in Ashley County, just outside of Fountain Hill, and recovered the side-by-side.
During the recovery Deputies arrested David Allen Summerford, a 18 year old white male. Summerford later admitted to taking the side-by-side. It was returned to its owner, and Summerford was taken for a first appearance, and has since been released from Jail pending court.
