May 7th, 2020 by

A77886AE-C07B-44E6-B365-9CBB01A0059CAccording to Monticello Police Chief Jason Akers, an additional arrest was made in connection with a burglary at a local sporting goods store.

Keuntre Arberry, age 30, was arrested on Wednesday, May 6 for Commercial Burglary and theft charges. A bond of $25,000 was set on the warrant of arrest.

The arrest follows after Monticello Police recovered (10) firearms and (3) suppressors/ silencers on Sunday after help from citizens in the community.

One arrest in connection with the case had previously been made the day of the burglary, and Akers says more arrests will most likely follow.

Stolen in the burglary were numerous handguns. Some of which have been recovered.

The first arrest was made late Thursday afternoon when law enforcement arrested Omarion Foster, age 18. Akers said more arrests will follow. Foster faces charges of commercial burglary and felony theft. Foster received a $25,000 bond.

Akers cited help from local citizens, the Police Department Crime Tip Line, media outlets (MLive and Advance) and the police department’s social media as contributing to the quick arrest. Also, the Agents with ATF that co-investigated the burglary with MPD were phenomenal in both investigative ability and professionalism.
