Stolen City Work Trucks Recovered
June 10th, 2013 by Joe BurgessAround 6:00, Sunday morning, a city employee noticed that two Ford F-150 pick-up trucks, with “City of Monticello” decals on the doors, had been stolen from the city warehouse, located between E. McCloy and E. Trotter Streets.
The trucks were driven through a chain link fence to get out of the fence-enclosed site. No direction of travel was able to be determined. Sources told MLive that the keys were believed to have been left inside both vehicles.
Around 4:00, the 2007 Ford was located and retrieved. It was found outside of the city limits.
Next, at approximately 4:30, the other vehicle, a 2011 model, was discovered inside of the city limits.
Anyone who have have seen the vehicles, or have any information about the theft, is asked to call the Monticello Police at 367-3411.
