Statewide Drug Bust includes Monticello
September 28th, 2018 by iPhoneThe 10th Drug Task Force, along with local Police and Sheriff’s Departments participated in a statewide drug operation referred to as “Operation Task Force Arkansas”.
Agents, focused on curbing the current ice methamphetamine crisis in the state, teamed with federal, state and local law enforcement officers to take illegal drugs and firearms off the streets of Arkansas cities.
The Drug Task Force and law enforcement agencies assisting in the operation arrested (35) people in the 10th Judicial District and seized over $ 10,000 in cash, approximately 199 grams of methamphetamine, seized approximately 8 pounds and 13 oz of high grade marijuana, 124 dosage units of narcotic tablets ranging from MDMA/ Ecstacy to opioids and recovered 20 illegally possessed firearms, some of which were stolen. Several arrests related to the operation are still pending, as some suspects wanted for the sale of narcotics have yet to be located.
Commander Jason Akers of the 10th Task Force extends his sincere appreciation to the Monticello, Crossett, Lake Village and Dumas Police Departments for their assistance as well as the Drew, Bradley and Ashley County Sheriff’s Departments and any other departments who supplied manpower or intelligence toward a successful outcome of this investigation.
