State Rests – Defense Calls Deputy, Father, & Dr.
April 15th, 2016 by iPhoneIn the 1st degree murder trial of Heather Hackett, in the death of Sam Arnold, the state rested.
At 9 am, the defense called the deputy that investigated the June attack. He testified that the hospital called the sheriff’s office around 7 am, that morning.
Another topic that was covered was Hackett’s cell phone. The deputy explained that she stated the she used the light of her phone to see the her attacker was a black male, approximately 6-4.
Later when asked why she didn’t call 911, she replied that her phone was dead, was also reported by the ACSO investigator.
At 9:15, her father was called to the stand, to detail a broken doorknob and broken steps, at their backdoor, while he was out of town.
At 9:20, a doctor was called to testify about Hackett’s condition, when she arrived at the Crossett hospital.
