State Rep. Candidate Jim Hall Loses 2nd Appeal – Will Miss Election, While Spending 90 Days in Jail, Pending 3rd Appeal
August 25th, 2016 by iPhoneHall, a candidate for state representative district 9, covering Drew and Ashley counties, lost his State Appeals Court case, in an attempt to overturn his 2013 conviction, for harassment and/or harassing communications.
The original case against Hall, was brought in by his ex-wife, her attorney and her pastor
Hall had first appealed the case to a Drew County Circuit Court jury, and instead of “30 days” sentenced him to serve a year, with all but 90 days suspended.
Hall made news Tuesday night, as he presented an impassioned speech, demanding that Monticello mayor Zach Tucker take a leave of absence or resign from office until his investigation was over.
Hall is also noted for filing lawsuits against all 5 Circuit Judges, the Circuit Clerk, and the Prosecuting Attorney.
Hall must serve the 90 days in the Drew County detention facility. That sentence is expected to begin with in the next month.
3 pm Update – Jim Hall has just notified MonticelloLive that he plans to appeal this decision, as well.
