Sniper Hostage & Reconnaissance Training
April 16th, 2018 by iPhoneLaw Enforcement SWAT snipers from surrounding counties and states recently came to Drew County to attend the advanced Sniper Operations Course conducted by the Drew County Sheriff Office, The Monticello Police Department. The 10th Judicial Drug Task Force and supported by the Office of Emergency Management.
The course was developed by former Marine Scout Sniper and current Sniper Instructor Deputy Casey Pippin. It was taught by Pippin, MPD Officer William West and Van Burean Officers Chase Decroo and David Passen.
The course focused on law enforcement hostage rescue, special operations, sniper reconnaissance surveillance and advanced precision shooting skills as well as other crises response situations such as active shooter response.
It finished with a 36 hour nonstop multi mission operation. 10 Snipers gained this elite certification this week here in Drew County.
The course is conducted once a year and is free for law enforcement and military . Any agency interested in sending personnel should contact the Deputy Casey Pippin or Officer William West.
