As Director of Special Olympics Arkansas Area 12, I cannot adequately express the gratitude and appreciation I have for all of the plungers and supporters who made the 2014 Polar Plunge a success. I definitely want to say “Thank You!” to Deputy AC Simpson and the Drew County Sheriff’s Department, who were the overall top fundraising invididual and team. I also really appreciate all of our plungers who make this event happen every year: Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority, Drew County Customs, Phi Alpha Theta, Monticello Police Department, McGehee Police Department, The Club from UAM, St. Marks Catholic Church, Monticello Intermediate School, and South Arkansas Rehabilitation; (individuals) Bill Kinzie, Beatrice James, Drake Reynolds, Brittany Barnard, and Kimberly Wilson. Without your efforts, Area 12 would not be able to provide for our athletes they way we do. I am so proud of the $10,000 you all were able to raise this year.
I also want to recognize those companies and individuals who made the Plunge possible: UAM, Drew County Sheriff’s Department and Drew County Office of Emergency Management, Ray’s, Atwoods, American Red Cross, UAM football team, Monticello Live, The Advance, SeaArk Today, Custom Wireless, SEEMS Ambulance Service, Signs Shirts and Decals, Eric Chisom, Virginia Ward, Diana Glennon, Tierra Stewart, Haley Scott, Dawn Marter, Kelly Rodriguez, Tony Wells, Libby Cox, Charlie Hammock, John Gladden, Justin Byrd, Tommy and Diane Ferrell, Dr. Donna Taylor, Stephanie Stewart, Sydnie Stewart, and Elaine Donham. Whether it be donating items to use for the chili lunch, help setting things up or donating your time, you really mean a lot not just to this event but you really touched the lives of our athletes. You really showed them how much you care.
Thank you again to the community for all you do for Special Olympics Arkansas Area 12.
