Shots Fired, Shooter Arrested
June 22nd, 2012 by Joe BurgessAccording to Drew County Sheriff Mark Gober, deputies were dispatched to a residence located at 236 Selma Collins Road, in Selma, at approximately 1:40 pm, Wednesday, after a call came in that a neighbor had shot into the home.
When authorities arrived at the scene, they found James Suber, age 54 of Monticello, unarmed in a ditch northeast of the home. The gun allegedly used in the incident was found in Suber’s truck. Suber was arrested and taken into custody.
After speaking with the victim, authorities determined that Suber allegedly fired a shot at the victim which missed him and struck the house hitting the top part of a window of the front door breaking the glass which ended up striking the victim. This incident is under investigation and more details will be released when the investigation is completed. Suber is currently detained in the Drew County Detention Facility where he being charged with aggravated assault and committing a terroristic act.
His bond was set at $10,000, Thursday.
