1,254 Patients, 3001 Extractions, $760,000 in Free Treatment — Thanks to ArMOM Free Dental Clinic – Edited

The weekend’s two day free dental clinic, sponsored by ArMOM (Arkansas Mission of Mercy) has come to an end, with a lasting benefit to 1,254 south Arkansas residents.
Dr. Terry Fiddler, director of the program, told MonticelloLive that 3,001 teeth were extracted from patients, and thousand’s of fillings were done.
The value of the services that were provided for free would have cost, $760,000, if they had to be paid for.
125 dentist and 798 volunteers made the event possible.
Comments from patients included, “Thank you so much, I couldn’t afford to have this done,” “This is such a blessing,” and “This will make my life so much better, I’ll be able to eat regular food again.”
Thanks to everyone that made this event possible; dentists, volunteers, UAM, and the other businesses that provided products and services.

Free Dental Clinic Resumes Saturday – Gov. Beebe Visits ArMOM at UAM
ArMOM (Arkansas Mission of Mercy) will be providing a Free Dental Clinic again Saturday, beginning at 6 a.m.
608 patients were treated Friday, even with the smaller than espected crowd, likely due to work and school conflicts
Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe visited the clinic, and took the opportunity to visit with patients as they were preparing to receive free dental care; and to thank some of the volunteers for their dedication and service to citizens of the state. This is the forth year for the ArMOM Free Dental Clinic, and the first one held in this part of the state.
Anyone planning to take advantage of the free dental care is urged to come to the UAM campus as soon as possible.
The clinic is being held in the John F. Gibson University Center.and buses will pick you up at the parking lots, and bring you to the Dental Clinic, and take you back when you’re done.
Call your friends and neighbors, and remind them that Saturday is the ArMOM Dental Clinic.

i would like to thank all the dentist and all who took part in this free service, they done the most beautiful work on my nephew, he is so proud of his new smile! I dont think people realise how important dental health is, its not so much cosmetic as it is for overall good health, people can get seriousely ill from gum infections, have digestive problems from not being able to chew properly, and a host of other bad medical problems. so thanks for careing and taking time out of your days to do this!
I would like to thank each person for whatever role you played in the involvement of the dental clinic. Each job was very important, from planning it to the last piece of paper that was picked up. The work on my teeth was great. May God bless each of you and thank you all again very much.
