Shooting on N. Main St. Earns $200,000 Bond for Felon
May 13th, 2019 by iPhoneAccording to Monticello Police Chief Jason Akers, a Monticello man is facing felony charges in connection in what Detectives believe was a late night home invasion.
Richard Block, age 32, of Monticello was
arrested by Police Detectives in connection with the incident, which occurred recently.
During the incident, a legally armed homeowner was shot, but was able defend himself with his own firearm which resulted in the attacker being shot once as well.
Instances such as this are why it is so important that people have the right to arm themselves legally and protect their home. The fact this homeowner had his own firearm and used it to defend himself no doubt played a role in his survival.
Block was charged with Battery 1st degree, Residential Burglary and Terroristic Act. His bond was set at $200,000. Block also has a white warrant hold from the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections.
