April 17th, 2009 by

A Drew County jury said enough is enough to a former Monticello resident, Lyndall Golden, Tuesday, by sentencing him to serve 40 in the state prison system.

The charge is described as “theft of property over $2,500”, but the items Golden stole were valued to be around $654,825, and included in stocks, bonds, CDs, jewelry, and a substantial amount of cash from an elderly couple, in the Coleman area, while she was in a Little Rock hospital.

Golden was living nearby to the couple, and had done some work for them, before taking their property, and leaving the area.

Golden is also reportedly facing charges out of central Arkansas.

One Response to “Jury Gives 40 Year Sentence for Theft of Documents & Items”

  1. Grizzly says:

“A job well done” goes out to the good people of Drew County who sat on the jury. I belive that the citizens of Drew County are tired of the people who choose to take the easy way and steal from the hard working people who make up this great County. This conviction will not stop all of the thefts, but it might make some one stop and say ” Hey, when I get caught I might spend a long time in the pen”. I hope this will send a message to those individuals who don’t want to work for a living, and would rather take it from those who do. May God bless the cops and deputies of this county that try and keep us safe 24/7 (think how it would be with out them)
