Sentencing Underway, After Families’ Mournful Testimony
November 14th, 2013 by iPhoneThe sentencing portion of the trial began at 3:30, with a crash victim describing how his 2 year old daughter reacts to big trucks when the family is out in traffic, by crying and screaming from being scared.
Ms. Davis’son, while crying, described the first Christmas that his mom was going tone able to spend with her grandson. Because of the crash, that Christmas visit could not happen.
Childs’ mom then took the stand , telling the court that because of that day, she’d lost her son, too.
The final witness, Childs’ father, also a truck driver, told how his son always wanted to be a truck driver, and how he’s been supporting his son.
After brief closing statements by both sides, the jury went back to deliberate the sentence, which can be no more than a year in the county jail.
