SEARK Reading Council Young Writer’s Contest Winners

SEARK Reading Council announced the winners of the Young Writer’s Contest at the January meeting Monday night. Students in grades K – 8 from the SEARK five county area ( Bradley, Cleveland, Desha, Drew, and Lincoln) were eligible to enter. The students had to submit an original piece that they had written.
There were over 90 entries in the two division (Elementary & Middle School). Winners in the Elementary Level were: Austin Cruce ( 5th Grade; Drew Central) First Place; Samaria Webb ( 5th Grade Drew Central) Second Place; and Mahogany Warren ( 5th Grade MIS) Third Place. Middle School Level were: Grace Clowers (7th Grade Drew Central) First Place; Emily Garcia ( 6th Grade MMS)Second Place; and Jaci Bates ( 6th Grade MMS) Third Place. The winners received a certificate, writing medal and a cash prize.
