Searcy to Seek Re-election as Treasurer
January 25th, 2018 by iPhoneDrew County Treasurer Charlie Searcy has announced that he will be seeking re-election in the May 22 Republican primary.
Searcy is a 1985 graduate of Monticello High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Arkansas at Monticello in 1989 and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1993.
Searcy and his wife, Leslie Hollinger Searcy, reside in the Barkada community. She is employed as the director of case management at Drew Memorial Hospital. They have been married for 29 years and have three children, Morgan Searcy Scott, 24; Abby, 21; and Matthew, 16; and one granddaughter, Searcy Scott, 3. He is a member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church and the Monticello Rotary Club.
“It has been an honor to serve the people of Drew County as their treasurer,” Searcy said. “Helping ensure that the tax monies collected by the county are spent wisely and for the betterment of our citizens is a responsibility I take very seriously, and I hope to be given the chance to continue. I’d like to take this opportunity to ask everyone for their vote and support.”
