SeaArk Hosts Congressman Westerman – Shares Industry Concerns
August 10th, 2018 by SubmittedU.S. Congressman Bruce Westerman visited SeaArk Boats yesterday. Congressman Westerman and staff were given an overview of the company, a plant tour, and learned about issues impacting the marine industry.
SeaArk President Steve Henderson and Congressman Westerman discussed how SeaArk has enjoyed increased sales and production in the past few years. Henderson shared about the importance of offering employment opportunities in this region and how SeaArk’s staff has doubled in the past two years. They also discussed how the new tariffs and trade war could negatively impact the aluminum boat industry.
Congressman Westerman stated, “I appreciate the opportunity to see what all is taking place here at SeaArk Boats along with the economic benefits. Boating and fishing are something near and dear to me and the opportunities to do that here in Arkansas are important. SeaArk has been a good member of the business community and this part of the world for a long time and I hope to see them continue with their success.”
SeaArk President Steve Henderson stated, “We’re honored to have Congressman Westerman tour our facilities and learn more about our company and industry concerns. It’s important to discuss these issues that are facing the marine industry and our company, and we look forward to continuing this discussion.”
