Schoolboard Discusses “Interventions” & OEC

Superintendent Bobby Harper spoke briefly about awards that various Monticello sports and athletics programs have recieved so far this year.
After the financial reports for October were approved, the meeting moved on to the superintendent reports.
The first report was regarding academic minded “interventions” run by the schools, elementary through highschool. The reports were given by faculty from each school, about each school. The reports explained that interventions are essentially where students who need specific attention in certain scademic areas are assisted by faculty outside of their standard classes. The reports discussed detection methods, methods of approach, and any before and after data available, specific to each school
The second report was regarding a mandatory rewording in faculty insurance protocal.
The third report discussed four items. First, contracts and specifications for a new batting cage. Second, contracts and recommendations for a new roof and gutter system for the OEC building. Reynolds Construction of White Hall placed the winning bid of $94,966, for replacement of the OEC buildings roof and gutters.
Thirdly, new class rooms and siding for the OEC building. And lastly, a brief discussion about how to proceed in regards to possibly installing indoor turf.
