School Board Elections, Now-Monday
September 13th, 2017 by iPhoneWe have always heard, “Your vote can make a difference”. In this election, that is not necessarily true.
Drew Central and Monticello school boards have one member each, that is up for re-election. However, both candidates are unopposed.
DC’s Rene’ Knowles and Monticello’s Wil Maxwell are the candidates who were not challenged for their current positions.
During m Tuesdays first day of voting, a total of 9 votes were cast.
Something important to take note of, is that the election is being held in the County Clerks office, instead of the club room. This change makes it possible for the county to save approximately $5,000 in poll worker costs.
This location change may not be appropriate for all elections, but it does show cost affective thinking in elections where it is feasible.
You may vote on weekdays, now til Monday 8 am-4:30 pm.
