Drive-By Shooting Leads to 2 Arrests- Bonds Set Monday

March 22nd, 2016 by

Saturday afternoon, around 1 PM, 2 subjects on East Jackson got into a verbal altercation over a street or parking area being blocked.

A short time later, the altercation led to shots being fired by both parties, with one subject being shot, on Merryde Drive.

2 arrests were made, and 1 subject was hospitalized, with non-life threatening injuries, where he was shot in the arm.

A 21 year old Monticello man (with Chicago ties) Dequan Martin was arrested,  and will likely be charged with being a co- conspirator on unlawful discharge of a firearm from vehicle and first degree battery charges.

District Judge Sara Hartness set his bond at $50,000.  Martin had a previous felony drug conviction.

Adrian Hansburg, age 24, a shooterin the incident, will also face charges of unlawful discharge of a firearm from vehicle and battery in the first degree, for the Saturday shooting, plus other charges, including careless and prohibitive driving and fleeing.

Judge Hartness set a $75,000 bond for Hansburg, plus s $5,000 cash bond on his previous drug charges, pending in district court, where he had repeatedly failed to appear.

According to the Monticello Police Department, the investigation is still in progress.

  1. a parking situation?

  2. Razorback girl says:

This is crazy. How many shootings have there been already this year? Monticello use to be a quiet little town.

  3. Weevils51 says:

    Shootings. Thefts. Armed robberies.

Monticello is becoming pine bluff south.

  4. **** says:

3 months into 2016 and it seems like Monticello is becoming the Pine Bluff of Southeast Arkansas

  5. Captain Obvious says:

Pine Bluff is the Pine Bluff of Southeast Arkansas….

  6. #ToomuchGoingOn says:

    This is ludacris!

  7. how it is says:

Thugs…… just like half of the town….no sense about life other than thug life….nothing in this town….so thugs stay to sell drugs an live off of the government

  8. Seark says:

This happens when the other towns get an overflow of crime. They start to spread out.
If half of these people would get a job and work at that instead of stealing and shooting the world would be better off.
The justice system is so out of line, they just get turned back out. Go back to public hangings and that would deter most of this foolish mess.

  9. Shelton says:

Half these comments are racist. That is all! Racist carry on…
