During my time of service as Quorum Court member the same issue came up. I was one of a three member committee selected to help resolve the issue. We found that a one cent sales tax had been passed years earlier with sanitation receiving 1/3 and sanitation flourished with these funds. It had a high of $675,000 in its account at one time but had become nearly broke because the funds were being used for county general. We voted to put $200,000 per year back into sanitation and had a small increase to save it. What are these funds used for now? Danny Lloyd previous member.
