Saline River SUV Search Postponed due to High Water & Rapid Current – Suspect Released
June 14th, 2014 by iPhoneA Monticello man was released from jail, Thursday, after divers were unable to retrieve what was believed to be a stolen Ford SUV from the Saline River, due to water and rapid currents.
Anthony Randle could still face charges relating to the theft and destruction of the stolen vehicle, after it is retrieved from the river when the waters drop.
The vehicle was reported stolen Wednesday around 3 PM to Monticello Police. Randle was arrested in the area soon after the report on drug charges by the Bradley County Sheriffs Department.
A Honda four wheeler and trailer, that were attached to the SUV when it was stolen, were recovered near Wilmar, on Thursday.
Bradley County Sheriffs Office, Arkansas Game and Fish officers, Bradley County search and rescue, Drew County Sheriff and Investigator, and Monticello Police, assisted by local logger’s skidder, were involved in the search for the vehicle

What is bad in things like this is the money that it cost to recover the truck. Lots of money to recover the truck and we the tax payers are holding the bill.
