Request to Widen Old Troy Road due to Increasing Traffic
February 13th, 2015 by Joe BurgessAt the last City Council meeting, W. J. McKeiver asked the city to widen a section of Old Troy Road, due to increased big rig traffic around Price Lumber Mill.
During peak traffic (school) times, several buses, as well as cars, travel through the area. This combined with the narrow road between the water tower and Firing Range Road, become dangerous to vehicles.

It would help if the police would patrol the road during peak hours but I have never seen one. County says it is in city limits, city says Old Troy is in the county. The road is a mess.
I agree, Old Troy Road needs to be widened and the hill beside Price Saw Mill and in front of Southland needs to be cut down. Our trucks turn in and out and if a car is coming from the east it is hard to see the car or for the car to see the trucks turning. There is a heavy flow of traffic. Most people going to the college from the east cuts through on Old Troy Road.
I think Rose Hill cut off road needs to be widened come sit in my drive for a day and you will see. It is not a dead end road it’s a cut thru road !
you think that road is bad? I live on Cherry St. and when two of the trucks are on the street at the same time one pulls as far over as they dare go and stops till the other gets by.Seen this happen several times. I have come close to going into the ditch on several times because the trucks are taking up my side of the road as well as theirs.I invite someone come set in my drive and watch.
