Quorum Court Member Leaving Position
October 30th, 2014 by iPhoneA member of the Drew County quorum court has announced that they are moving outside of their represented district, and will be stepping down from their position on the county’s governing board.
Billie Gober-Ferrell has recently married, and will be moving into a new residence in the near future.
When a member of the quorum court moves out of their district, they are automatically disqualified from holding that position. Mrs. Farrell has not moved yet, so she was eligible to take part in Monday’s meeting.
When a vacancy is declared, the governor will appoint someone to take her position on the court.
Farrell is currently listed as an unopposed candidate on the current ballot, for the next two year term, so the appointment will be for over 2 years.
