Quorum Court Declares Position Vacant – Appoints New Circuit Clerk to Serve Current Term
January 2nd, 2013 by Joe BurgessThe Drew County Quorum Court was sworn in New Years Day morning, and held a called business meeting immediately afterward.
The main item on the agenda was to declare the elected position of Circuit Clerk “vacant”. They then discussed the situation, and unanimously voted to appoint Sandra Erlanson, the current chief deputy clerk, to serve the remaining term of former Circuit Clerk Pat Montgomery.
Erlanson and the other two deputy clerks in that office were then invited into the meeting, to be complimented for their hard work in keeping the office running, while short-handed.
Erlanson was sworn in by new County Judge Robert Akin, after the meeting was adjourned.
